5 Tips to Help You Find the Best Shopping in Auburn
Once you're settled in your new Auburn apartment, you're going to need to know where the best buys are. Luckily, you can find the best shopping in Auburn just by following these 5 tips:
1. Head Downtown
Auburn may not be a giant city, but the Downtown area has plenty of big-city style! Whether you're looking for cute boutiques that have one-of-a-kind pieces, the trendiest shoe stores, or the perfect makeup for that big Saturday night date, you'll find it in Downtown Auburn.
While you're there, take a break from your shopping and grab a coffee, a cupcake, or a beer at one of the trendy eateries that are sprinkled in amongst the shops.
2. Take a trip to the Auburn Mall
Over the years, it's been called the Auburn Mall, the Village Mall, and the Colonial Mall, but no matter what you decide to call it, if you're looking for a wide array of stores, you need to head here! The mall is only four miles from the Auburn University campus, so you won't have to travel far to indulge your inner shopaholic. Inside, you'll find three department stores -- JC Penney, Dillard's, and Belk. You'll also find more than a dozen other apparel stores, half a dozen shoe stores, and a variety of accessory and jewelry stores. There's also a streetscape so you can wander around some of your favorite stores out in the open air.
3. Take your pick of grocery stores
Even the pickiest of eaters will be happy with the food selection in Auburn! If you prefer to shop at the big-name grocery stores, you'll have your choice of Publix, Kroger, Piggly Wiggly, and Winn Dixie. If you're looking for more specialized foods, you'll find plenty of organic and vegan treats at Earth Fare, while Dayspring Nature Shoppe has a variety of health foods. There's even an Asian Super Market located on Pepperell Parkway if you feel like doing some exotic cooking. Or, if you're looking for big bulk deals, you'll be happy to know that there's a Sam's Club located just off of I-85.
4. Keep your budget intact at the secondhand stores
If your wardrobe needs a cheap addition, there are plenty of places to find it in Auburn! The city is home to several thrift stores and consignment boutiques, so you'll have your pick of gently-used clothing. That way, you can look your best and still have plenty of money left over to enjoy everything else that Auburn has to offer!
5. Don't forget about Toomer's Drugs
This old-fashioned drugstore is actually more like a soda shop than a drugstore, but it's also got plenty of Auburn University gear for sale. So, if you need a new hat to wear around campus or a new shirt to wear to the football game, you'll find it here!
