Apartments Within Walking Distance to Auburn's Campus -- Great from Every Angle!
The best thing about Auburn University's campus is that it's centrally-located -- meaning you can live within walking distance to it and still be close to everything else you want. No matter which side you're on, there will be big perks!
If you think an apartment within walking distance to the Auburn campus may be right for you, here's what you need to know:
- You can get double the fun when you live on the north side
If your apartment is on the north side of Auburn University, you won't just be able to walk to campus. You'll also be able to walk to Downtown Auburn! Magnolia Street is a shopping and dining hub, offering everything from boutiques, to spas, to outdoor accessories, to gourmet cupcakes, to sports bars, to fancy cocktails, to fine steaks. This street is also home to the famous Toomer's Corner -- specifically, it's at the corner of Magnolia and College Streets -- and it's THE place to be after an Auburn football win. Move into an apartment here, and you'll be right in the thick of things 24/7!
- Don't forget about the frat houses
If you live at an apartment on Auburn's northwestern side, you'll live amongst several of the university's fraternity houses. Houses line both sides of Magnolia Street, all the way west to Martin Luther King Park. It's not the only place in town where you'll see fraternity houses, but you'll find the highest concentration of them here. So, if you don't like the idea of sharing your neighborhood with a bunch of fraternity brothers, this probably isn't the corner of town for you!
- Live on the east side if you like green space
Auburn University is home to tons of green space, but if you'd like to experience Mother Nature off campus, the east side is best. If your apartment sits along E. Stamford Avenue, you'll be able to walk west to campus and east to the Duncan Wright Fitness Trail -- where the walking trail is exactly one mile long, making it easy to calculate your workout. Walk a few more blocks east, and you'll find yourself at Bowden Park, which is home to a great playground and picnic areas complete with grills.
- The southeast side of campus offers an easy way in and out of town
Whether you love taking spontaneous road trips, or you've got to commute to work in Opelika or points further northeast, living at an apartment on the southeast side of Auburn's campus will put you very close to I-85.
And, as an added benefit, living on this side of the Auburn campus means you'll also be close to Town Creek Park. So, on those days when you don't have to worry about hitting the road, you won't have to travel far to enjoy some lazy fun in the sun!
